the little white barn co.

In the “little white barn” behind our old 1853 Carriage House, we started making wood landscape structures. We put a little sign in our front yard, people stopped by and we started building things for our neighbors.   After a while, the city stopped allowing us to  build items at our house and we opened our first little shop in Mentor, OH.  It was a great thing — our new shop brought new customers and as our customers enjoyed their landscape items, they told family and friends.

After inventing Celtic Stone, Adam and Julie started making their little stone cottages.  Starting on two little desks in their garage, these little cottages would be given as gifts and used as garden accents in their own yard.  Visitors would stop at all hours and ask about the little cottages.  Finally Adam and Julie got the courage to take them to a 3 day Art Show.  The cottages sold out on the first day.  “After that show, we finally believed that others felt the same as we did about our little cottages,” Adam always tells others.  Little by little we began making more and more cottages and going to more and more shows.

Before long the two were filing orders from retailers and distributors.  Their cottages are now sold to retailers around the country and the two and their crew have become manufacturers of Stone Garden Art, Custom Garden Items as well as Custom Designers and builders of a variety of things made from metal, stone, and wood.   In 2015, Urban Metal Art will be launched as a unique maker of industrial home decor items.
